Also, some physicians resort to doing nothing but reviewing and consulting, but not having any treatment at all for a large number of patients. Remember, you take a big risk if you undergo surgery without a physician. Hair Transplant is a type of surgery. Like any surgery, you need a physician. Unfortunately, there are many clinics and hospitals in Turkey where surgeries are done without a physician. To attract patients, they use a variety of tricks, offering low prices, luxury clinics/hospitals, hotels, lifetime 100% guarantees, and for your comfort, they try to convince you it just a cosmetic procedure without any side effects and risks. But if you have any problems, you cannot find out whom to seek for help. So be careful with the choice you make.

Before surgery, it is necessary: • 3 days before the procedure, you should not take any vitamins, aspirin, alcohol, any antiplatelet agents (preventing blood clotting). • If you have allergies or any health problems such as diabetes, heart problems, or blood pressure, you must tell your physician. • 1 hour before the procedure, it is advisable to have a light meal. • It is advisable to wear clothes that can easily be undressed. • Hair should be washed, not shaved or trimmed. If you smoke it is important to stop at least a week before surgery. Smoking blocks the blood flow to the scalp and may slow down the recovery process.

Each person has a different organism and of course, everyone will have different results. Depending on the physician and team’s experience, the donor area (the back of the head), the density of the available hair, the type and structure of the hair, the type of scalp, the genes. Lifestyle affects the recovery and procedure outcome. Avoid the use of alcohol, cigarettes, steroids, avoid stressful situations, and follow carefully all instructions given by your physician. Unfortunately, not everyone is eligible for the procedure. It depends on the available hair in the donor area (the back of the head) and the size of the problem area. The procedure is not recommended for the following diseases: Diabetes, Anaemia, Hypertension, Heart Problems, Thyroid Problems, Hepatitis, HIV Positive, Other Infectious and Serious Diseases and Dermatitis (very important). It is not recommended for persons under the age of 20 and for persons over 60 years of age.

We do not recommend grafting hair from other parts of the body except the head. The technique of Body Hair Transplant (BHT) is relatively new and involves grafting of the chest, abdomen, face, it is mainly used for eyebrows, beards. The disadvantage of this type of procedure is that body hair is of a lower quality than scalp hair. It is because of the fact that the structure of scalp hair is different from the structure of body hair. The degree of compatibility is important to ensure a good result, and there is no compatibility between scalp hair and body hair. The success rate of Hair Transplant procedures for taking hair from the body is less than those using hair from scalp donor areas.

The scalp is not painful, during administration of local anaesthesia there will be pain, it depends from an individual to individual.

The grafted hair remains for lifetime. In younger patients, there may be hair loss of the remaining hair, and it should not be misunderstood as loss of grafted hair.

The most important thing is to strictly follow the physician's instructions. You will be given an information form to read carefully and take into account all the recommendations. Ask the questions you have in order to be informed and aware of everything. The most important thing is to take care of yourself both physically and mentally. You have to prepare patiently for the end result, which takes between 12 and 18 months in some cases. Be positive, do not be prejudiced before the end result and make various negative conclusions every day, taking the role of a physician. We work on the principle of optimal grafting. In some cases, if you have a large problem area and if the donor zone does not allow for a large quantity of grafts to be taken at once, you will need 2 sessions. You will have to wait for the complete scalp recovery in the donor area to proceed to a second session (after 10-12 months).

This technique is created by the Asians and gives results only in the Asian race because of their specific hair type and structure. In the remaining races, good results are not obtained; a small amount of hair with a low density can be grafted.

After FUE Hair Transplant, the purpose is to have hair. If you want to cut it short after surgery, it is not recommended. It is desirable to keep your hair long.

Hair can be grafted to women as well. We have quite a number of lady patients with results. The procedure is the same as in men.

You have to rest on the day of the procedure and the next day. You will experience difficulty sleeping during the first night. It is very important to lie on your back. There should be no contact with grafted areas. It is preferable for someone to accompany you. If you have the chance to get a special pillow to keep your neck up. After the first wash of the head you will be able to sleep more comfortably, and after 7-10 days after the procedure you will no longer have difficulties. The first wash will be done very carefully in the clinic on the second post-surgery day. Additional drugs are prescribed: antibiotics, painkillers, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and cosmetic products that you will have to apply for a while.

Grafted hair will grow in about 3-4 months after surgery; the final effect is after 12-18 months in some cases. Since it is taken from an area where hair is protected from hair loss, there is no danger of repeated loss of hair. In the first 10-15 days after the procedure, it is recommended to avoid tough physical exercises. After complete recovery of the affected areas (after the 10th day), physical exercises can be resumed. Four weeks after the procedure, it is not recommended to expose to direct sunlight and in any situations that may cause injury. Sauna, solarium, swimming and sports where the head is actively involved should be avoided. Within 45 days after grafting, hair dye, henna, gels, hair dryer, no hats should be used.

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) or platelet-rich plasma is a safe therapy without side effects. In PRP, blood is taken from the patient and placed in a special device where it is centrifuged, as a result of which plasma is removed from the rest of the blood. Plasma, which is rich in tissue-inducing factors, is injected into the skin of the patient's hair. PRP therapy is recommended to be used after a Hair Transplant procedure. It will support the development of new hair and restore the affected areas. Immediately after surgery, we perform PRP therapy on each patient.

Worldwide, the situation is already very delicate and there are the same risks everywhere. Istanbul is a big city of about 20 million-strong population and there are different people of different nationalities who visit the city on a daily basis without any problems.
